Description

Performance-based regulations have the potential to vastly improve system safety assuming graceful systems degradation will be built in. There is a significant shift in the way new or revised regulations are being applied transferring to the airlines the responsibility for monitoring safety performance and for acting on the findings.

  1. The full safety implications of the introduction and interaction of these new, performance-based systems must be carefully considered. (Examples: Required Navigation, Communications, Surveillance Performance; RNP, RCP, RSP)
